“Being There” for those who Serve Sonoma County, California

 

The Sonoma County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy (LECS) responds to requests from Law Enforcement and provides support and emotional care to first responders along with other members of the community who have suffered tragedy and loss. We are an interfaith community of compassionate volunteers without religious, political, or legal agendas.

 
 
 

Tour de Fuzz, LECS annual fundraiser ride, will be held on August 31, 2024, a one-of-a-kind event; scenic cycling routes, outstanding SAG (support & gear), all-you-can-eat BBQ, sides, ice cream, local IPA beers/wine and a party you’ll never want to leave. Law Enforcement Chaplaincy, RECENT News

September 2, 2023 Press Democrat Newspaper | Thousands of cyclists – a mix of law enforcement officers and their fans and supporters – joined in the annual Tour de Fuzz on Saturday, riding routes around Sonoma County that ranged from 32 miles to 100 miles. The charity event raised funds for Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Services in Sonoma County. The riders, dubbed Fuzzies, set off from and finished at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, the most ambitious of them riding a “Century” called the Commando that stretched through Dry Creek Valley, north towards Cloverdale and out to Lake Sonoma and back. November 6, 2022 — Press Democrat Newspaper | LECS is seeking 2023 Chaplaincy Academy applicants to “be there” for others in the midst of crisis. If you’ve got what it takes to be part of a special community of trained volunteers who serve first responders, police and members of the community suffering tragedy and loss, apply before December 15, 2022. September 4, 2022 Press Democrat Newspaper | Celebrating Community section features LECS beneficiary testimonial, “I could see the yellow CHP blanket laying on the asphalt and it was for my son, Garrett. All of a sudden a soft-spoken woman, one of your Law Enforcement Chaplains, just appeared — like an angel out of nowhere — to be with me on my worst day ever. She stayed, she listened and she was intentionally present. I don’t know who she was, and yet, I’ll never forget her. Forever grateful.”
